Writing

Writing will occur daily across the curriculum at the school. The writing process will be directly instructed based on the Florida Standards. Ongoing writing strategies will be implemented in all areas to highlight the importance of this life-long skill.

Students will write for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, journal writing, literature responses, quick writes, content summarizations, narrative and expository essays, research, publications, and content-based projects. Technology use will be encouraged, as it is a mainstay of future educational endeavors and adult life. Literacy skills will be enhanced through writing as students discover the reading writing connection and develop English and grammar skills through revision and editing.
