Mathematics

The driving force behind mathematics instruction is to provide students with every-day mathematical competence, a necessity for all in today’s technological society. To this end, a daily minimum of 60 minutes of uninterrupted instruction in mathematics will be provided to students as indicated on the master calendar.

Within this time frame, students will engage in real-world problem-solving that develops reasoning, reflection, communication, and decision making skills. In accordance with the M-DCPS Competency-Based Curriculum, all mathematics instruction will be grounded in the Florida Standards. The school will use state-adopted textbooks across all grade levels.
